Strunz & Farah's first studio recording in four years, Journey Around the Sun, is the result of a year's musical journey of the mind. The CD is a collection of many diverse compositional settings, including Strunz & Farah's signature groundbreaking mix of Latin and Middle Eastern elements combined with jazz and flamenco that creates an original music that truly travels from East to West, and from North to South. A number of compositions use some of Los Angeles' best Middle Eastern musicians and percussionists, and others include performances with extraordinary Cuban musicians Carlos del Puerto on bass and Jimmy Branly and Luis Conte on percussion, with the glittering addition of the flute and clarinet virtuosity of Eastman alumnus Rob Hardt. With Journey Around the Sun, Strunz & Farah have created their most far-ranging CD thus far.
