Product Description
Atlantic recording group Stone Temple Pilots has announced the upcoming release of their hugely anticipated new album. 'STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' - the Grammy Award-winning band's first all-new collection in close to a decade - will arrive in stores and at all online retailers around the globe on May 25th. Produced by Stone Temple Pilots and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Dave Matthews Band, My Chemical Romance), 'STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' sees one of rock's biggest bands continuing to explore their enduring approach to music - melding big rock riffs, classic pop hooks, and the restless experimentalism of glam, punk, and psychedelia. Stone Temple Pilots - Scott Weiland, Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo, and Eric Kretz - will introduce fans to the new album at their first live date of 2010, performing as part of the annual South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival in Austin, Texas. The show - slated for Thursday, March 18th at the famed Austin Music Hall, and presented by StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace - kicks off an extensive worldwide 2010 schedule for STP, with U.S. dates, radio festivals, and a European tour slated to follow. A full-scale North American summer tour will also be announced in the coming weeks.
Deluxe edition will contain 4 bonus tracks:
-Samba Nova (Bonus Track)
-Vasoline (Live from Chicago)
-Hickory Dichotomy (Live from Chicago)
-Between the Lines (Live from Chicago)
Includes a 12 page booklet and an 18 panel poster plus gold foil added to the cover art.

Album Reviews

This album is by far one of the most appealing productions since "Purple." The songs "First Kiss on Mars," "Hazy Daze," and " Between the Lines" will certainly become fan favorites. Although the band wasn't expected to release any new tracks, some of the songs are easy to listen to and reminded me of their earlier work on "Tiny Music" back in the 1990's. This latest offering is a combination of easy going, smooth tracks and modern/classic rock tunes that will definitely capture your attention.

I give this album 4 stars mainly because of the construction and overall sound of the album. If you are into older STP or even their newest albums, you should give the album a listen. My favorite songs are Bagman, First Kiss on Mars, Dare If You Dare, and Samba Nova. This was a great alternative returning album!

I love the Stone Temple Pilots this is deffintly one of their best albums yet next to Thank You. Their sounds remains iconic and very easy to listen to. I encourage anybody to listen to this album and other works by Stone Temple Pilots.

This album sounded like a continuation of where the last Stone Temple Pilots album left off. The song writing and sound is their original basic formula.
Some of the best songs in my opinion are Between the Lines, Take a Load Off, Bagman, and First Kiss on Mars.
Some of my least favorite songs on the album were Cinnamon and Maver. Cinnamon just seemed out of place on this album to me and didn't have the classic Stone Temple Pilots sound.
Overall, this was a pretty good album, especially if you are a Stone Temple Pilots fan. If you were never a fan of Stone Temple Pilots , you should at least give this album a listen . You may end up becoming a fan.

I was surprised to hear STP was releasing a return album and was anxious to hear it. I think the hype of return albums always sets the artists up for short-comings. However, this album does have a few decent tracks on it such as "Between the Lines" and "Take a Load Off." Scott's still got it.

I was a huge fan of Stone Temple Pilots in the 90's, but I was not sure about a return album. There a good songs on the album but I feel like something is missing. All in all I guess, after all these years, this was a better than average album attempt.

I have always been a fan of Stone Temple Pilots and have been leery of their comeback album, which is self-titled. Upon listening to their new LP, I was somewhat surprised to hear old form and new form on most of the tracks. These are the standout tracks: "Cinnamon", "Take A Load Off" and "Bagman".
I would, though, like to see them produce a heavier rock-influenced album. Overall, it's an album I will sooner or later purchase to add to my STP collection.

I love the Stone Temple Pilots! They've been one of my favorite bands for years. I'm excited for this new album and I can't wait until it arrives.

Stone Temple Pilots have always been my favorite band. This is a far stretch from their old stuff. Pretty disappointing if you ask me. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to true STP fans. The first track is 'Between the Lines' and trust me, it's not at all what you'd be expecting from a kick a** band like STP.

This cd is the reason I bought my ipod--great
rock, way up loud and I can get through
anything in the day. The Gods of rock still
smile on the Pilots.
