Album Description
The Age of Miracles is the 3rd Zoe/Rounder release from world renowned singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter. The Age of Miracles has been a work in progress since 2007. The album is a personal exploration of regret and resilience but also a larger, more universal expression of wonder at the times we are living in. Carpenter is backed by an incredible band that includes Matt Rollings (piano, B-3 organ), Russ Kunkel (drums), Duke Levine (electric and acoustic guitar), Glenn Worf (bass), Dan Dugmore (steel and 12 string guitar) and Eric Darken (percussion). It also features guest vocals by Vince Gill and Alison Krauss.

I have always loved Marys music and this cd
lives up to her intelligent and classic
style of individuality that everyone can
relate to.

This music is a great fix for stress. "Need
for Solitude" goes best with Pinot Grigiot.
Mary has a way of relaxing and provoking at
the same time-skip your evening news one night a
week and listen to this cd instead.

Oh my God! This was beautiful, I was really impressed by the vocals, and the harmonies of the music. This album is one of the best I have listened to! The way I feel is the best song on the whole album.

I grew up listening to country music, but as I got older started to drifted away from the genre. This was such a great find, Got to love Mary-Chapin Carpenter, her voice cuts to your soul, this album is amazing.

True to form, the musicianship on this album is stellar! This album is as poignant and introspective as all of Mary Chapin Carpenter's works. The opening track, "We Traveled So Far", is expressive and persistent - it sets the tone for the powerful treatise on life that follows. The songs are ordered in such a way that once can appreciate the message Chapin Carpenter hopes to convey with this album...that the ability to remain resilient, even in the midst of fear despair, is the real miracle!
