With their first album titled "Gorilla Manor," the title derived from the house in which they recorded this album, the Local Natives have recorded an album that explores the usual emotions but at the same time their rhythm and compositions separate them from just about everyone. On my favorite track entitled "Airplanes" the band showcases their unique lineup of adding an extra snare drum while singing in a very melodic and poetic style that is very easy and enjoyable to listen to. I give this album four stars because top to bottom it speaks to me through their melodies and lyrics.

I received this album as a Birthday gift from a friend. I was skeptical at first, but popped in in my cd player on a road trip. It was on repeat for the entire 16 hour journey. Great new sound. Must buy!
