Album Description

The new album is LCD Soundsystem's first full offering of new studio material since 2007's Sound Of Silver, which was named best album of 2007 by The Guardian, Uncut and the Independent among others, and like its predecessor 2005's LCD Soundsystem received a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album. Sound Of Silver also featured Uncut song of the year "North American Scum," and "All My Friends," ranked #4 by Time in its Best Songs of 2007 and named track of the year by Mojo. In 2008, LCD Soundsystem contributed the track "Big Ideas" to the soundtrack of the movie 21. The band has since released the 45:33: The Remixes EP and a cover of Alan Vega's "Bye Bye Bayou," issued to commemorate Record Store Day 2009 and earning LCD its fifth NME single of the week. The album will be preceded by the March 22nd release of the soundtrack to Noah Baumbach's Greenberg, which features both composition's from James Murphy's original score for the film and the new LCD Soundsystem song "Oh You (Christmas Blues)."

Went to the lcd concert the other night in Dallas. Lets just say I danced myslf clean. If this cd doesnt make you dance you dont have a soul.

James Murphy outdid himself on what some are reporting is his final record under the LCD Soundsytem moniker. The opening single "Drunk Girls" isn't indicative of the rest of the record. In fact I prefer every other tune on the disc to it. Nearly every song is a sprawling 8 minutes in length. The clear winners for me are "All I Want", which is in the same vein as "All My Friends" off of Sound of Silve, and "I Can Change" which comes off a little cliche at first but has some killer lyrics on inspection. Maybe attributed to working on the Greenberg Soundtrack I think This is Happening shows off Murphy's vocals like never before.

I like this album a lot. There are lots of great songs here. Pow Pow got my head bobbing instantly. :D Drunk girls is just hilarious. lol I will definitely check out all of LCD Soundsystem's work as I have become a fan for sure.

I have been a fan of LCD Soundsystem for a while now. I bought this album the day it came out, and I am still on not sure if I like it. There are a few standouts on the album, such as Drunk Girls and Pow Pow. They are very upbeat and catchy. However, the rest of the album does not hold the same caliber as their previous album Sound of Silver.

Lcd Soundsystem just don't seem to cut it with this album. Many songs are quite annoying, specifically "Drunk Girls" which fails at attempting to be humorous while providing an interesting listen.

I forgot to add that the song pow pow should only be played when there is no drama or fights going on.. It gets pretty intense and you dont't want any fights to be started :)

Excellent CD for the electronic junkies. I love playing this CD at my parties, because you can play the cd constantly and it keeps the energy level at a maximum. I especially like the song drunk girls, and so do they, once the party is pumpin. I strongly recommend this cd to anybody that likes electronic genre music, and all of the partiers in general.

I really didn't know what to expect with this album, I was really on the rocks. After listening to it however, I thought it was pretty good. I didn't think it was as good as Sounds of Silver but pretty good overall.
