Product Description

More than three decades after the release of its visionary debut, 'Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo,' and a full 20 years since its last studio album, Devo is back with the aptly titled 'Something for Everybody.' The long rumored, wildly anticipated album (which was launched with a memorable performance in Vancouver at the Winter Olympics) features the band's classic line-up - Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh, Gerald and Bob Casale - joined by drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Guns n' Roses). Though the songs recorded for 'Something for Everybody' are built on Devo's signature mechanized swing, the recording and presentation of the album saw the band experimenting with an entirely new approach. A series of studies were conducted through the clubdevo.com site to help the band with its creative decisions, from color selection to song mixes. In fact, 16 songs were recorded but only 12 made the final album. DEVO invited fans and critics to help select the songs that they liked best to make the cut by participating in a Song Study at clubdevo.com.

This album was alright, i do like the album cover as well. There are 12 great songs and its just fun to listen to. I really do like "Human Rocket" more than anything else but thats just me.

I really like Devo and if you liked the old stuff this is pretty much the same good old devo i really like the tracks human rocket and later is now oh and also march on all in all good stuff

Jimmy Rudolph wrote on the 21st June 2010...

I've never been a huge fan of Devo, but this album is pretty fun to listen to nonetheless. If you like the song "Whip It" then you'll enjoy this album because it's pretty much more of the same. Human Rocket stands out as one of the most fun/zany tracks. If you are just looking for a good time, not serious art, then I'm pretty sure you will like this. After all, it is called Something for Everbody.

Devo has been way ahead of their time
since the begining and nothing has changed.
They still have the same distinct sound
on "Something for Everybody" but the music
has evolved. "Step Up" rocks. I wish I had
known about the fan involvement they invited
making this album, how cool is that? But
alas, Devo defines cooool.

Yes! Devo! So good! I'm so excited about this album It is my new favorite thing to listen to in the car. They are still so ahead of their time, while also bringing back that old nostalgic feeling.

Apparently "Something for Everybody" is not something for everybody because I don't think I made it through one song completely before skipping to the next. Now don't get me wrong I have been a fan of a few of Devo's songs but this is definitely not one of her finer pieces of work. Track no. 8 Step Up probably was the best on the album but only because it had a pretty catchy beat.

Not my favorite artist. However, this album offers some nice singles and the overall quality is decent. I would not recommend it but again, this is not my favorite type of music.
