Product Description
LET FREEDOM REIGN is the long-awaited follow-up to Epiphany, which debuted at #1 Soundscan following its release in May 2009. The album built on the success of its Top 10 Adult R&B title tune hit "Epiphany (I'm Leaving)," also written by Ne-Yo and produced by Chuck Harmony. Chrisette was also chosen to open one of the highest profile tours of 2009, as she joined fellow neo-soul artist Maxwell in July for his BLACKsummers'night comeback tour.
Grammy Award-winning Def Jam recording artist Chrisette Michele has won the heart and soul of AOL Radio, which added her brand new single, "I'm A Star" to the net's much-traveled AOL Radio New R&B First station. Written by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo and produced by Chuck Harmony, "I'm A Star" is the first single pick from Chrisette's highly-anticipated third album, LET FREEDOM REIGN. Chuck Harmony and Chrisette complete the bulk of the album with songs of triumph over love loss and freedom to love again.
"Clattering percussion and high, metronomic piano set the stage for Michele's rich, jazz-trained vocals to shine on this inspirational mid-tempo song," declares AOL Radio, "and she takes full advantage with a warm, histrionic-free performance." The rave continues: "It should be noted that she's not brazenly declaring herself a star like Prince did on his similarly-titled song back in 1983, but instead stepping away from a bad relationship and re-affirming her own worth."
