Started ten years ago as an offshoot of the Chilean
ska-punk band Lafloripondio, Chico Trujillo has
become an institution in Chile, where their national
brand of Cumbia is the soundtrack to every party.
Their big band arrangements owe as much to the
Cumbia bands of yesteryear as to rock and ska.
They have shared the stage with every major South
American rock band, including Los Tres and Los
fabulosos Cadillacs, and they perform at every major
Chilean festival where they routinely draw crowds of
50,000.
