Product Description

`Raza De Oro' is a collection of Mexican roots music in tribute to the legacy of Mexican American culture. In Raza De Oro (Golden People) Los Cenzontles perform their celebrated corrido to Arizona Estado de Verguenza (State of Shame) a rallying cry against discrimination; Regresa Ya (Return Now) an original ranchera about a woman pleading for her migrant husband's return; rancheras including the classic Soy Mexico Americano; sones Jarochos of Veracruz such as La Guacamaya; as well as two Los lobos covers. Guest artists include Ry Cooder and David Hidalgo. Los Cenzontles ("The Mockingbirds") is a Mexican- American Roots band, heavily infl uenced by Tejano music, country music, rock and roll, and traditional Mexican regional music such as Son Jarocho and boleros. The San Pablo, CA based group has performed with Linda Ronstadt, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, and The Chieftains among others.
